No.58 Referenced from ~ Part2 - Chapter 1 - Break The reason why conservative churches must confront Kant's philosophy
Dr. Hisakazu Inagaki had asked me two questions in my former graduation thesis on Kant, and “Faith and Reason for an Open Christianity” was my answer to them over the past 25 years. At that time he asked me the following: "Conservative Christianity has not been influenced by Kant, so why are you dealing with Kant's philosophy?" and "I believe that the contemporary issue for conservative Christianity is the establishment of a Christian worldview in the everyday world, so why are you trying to discuss miracles, which are extraordinary events?" I responded with the following explanation: "Conservative theology has been forced to become authoritarian because of a backlash against the mainline caused by the influence of Kant's philosophy, and here we can see the indirect influence of Kant," and "The miracles that Kant denied are a prerequisite for the establishment of Christianity, and if this is shaken, not only the Christian worldview but Christianity itself is in danger." |
