The phrase "The Holy Spirit is..." does not exist in this essay

Here, we do not adopt the doctrinal understanding found in conservative theological books that "it is the Holy Spirit who gives us faith." This is because, at the very point of mentioning the "Holy Spirit," this understanding is already based on faith and does not explain how faith is established.

The theory of faith and reason, which advocates speaking of faith through reason, seeks to understand how Christian faith, including such "faith in the Holy Spirit," can be established in relation to the acquisition of Jesus, the object of faith.
